Renowned playback singer Benny Dayal married his girlfriend Catherine Thangam in Bangaluru on June 5, Sunday. The marriage, which was a very private affair, was only attended by his close friends and family. His close friends from the industry - music directors A R Rahman, Vishal Dadlani (of the Vishal–Shekhar duo) and singer Neeti Mohan attended the function.
According to reports, the couple, who met through a common friend, followed the Hindu and Christian rituals for their wedding. The wedding came into the limelight when Vishal Dadlani announced the news of their wedding on his twitter page. Later A R Rahman also shared a picture of himself with the happy couple on his Instagram page.
The groom wore a white dhoti and kurta, while the bride looked ravishing in a pastel designer saree.
Benny, who hails from Kerala, got his big breakthrough with the song 'Pappu Can’t Dance' from the 2008 Bollywood movie 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'. He has also hits like 'Badtameez Dil', Bang Bang, Daaru Desi, Tarkeebein and many more in his kitty. He has also sung for many Tamil movies, including Sivaji, Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa etc...
The bride Catherine Thangam is a model, actress, and dancer based in New York. She has been part of many print and electronic ads and has been part of movies like English Vinglish.
There are also speculations that the couple will soon host a reception in Kerala.
